Ask a Question

I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience. If you have other questions, feel free to email me. justin@goffphotos.com

What type of Photographer are you?

My photography combines storytelling capturing the essence of the event with authentic portraits which may be a mix of contemporary style, a documentary style, or an editorial style based on the event. I try not to interfere too much with the event and let my clients and guests enjoy the day whilst I capture the story, that helps you re-live those beautiful moments for years to come.

Will you give me every picture you take?

No, because my camera’s takes 14 pictures per second. I will edit and share all the best images so that I don’t end up giving you the same frame 14 times, As the old saying goes ‘quality over quantity.

How many hours will you cover?

This really depends on the occasion and how much you want to spend. If your budget is tight and it’s a wedding, I am more than happy to focus on a couple of hours to capture the main event. Equally, I can provide an all-day and evening service.

Will you use flash in the church?

No, my cameras are of good quality to handle low light.  What I would say is that it is a good idea to re-enact a couple of shots afterwards.

Is photography permitted in a church/place of worship?

It is important to check with the service leader if photography is permitted. In most cases it will be, however, there may be some restrictions on which parts of the ceremony can be photographed, where the photographer can stand, and if flash can be used. A conversation between the service leader and photographer can ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day. I seek permission for who can be included in the shots and to understand any other events happening on the day so crossovers can be avoided.

Do you have any advice for a family photo shoot on a walk/out and about?

I would recommend eating before your shoot and bring additional drinks and snacks for the shoot breaks.

What if my child is being naughty?

I'm in no rush and sometimes we're getting a great, cheeky picture from it!

Can I go through the pictures/see them on your laptop?

Yes, I will download them straight away if you want to select your photos there and then. I will then photoshop them.

How quickly will I receive my images?

Depending on the occasion, three to four days after the shoot.

I'd like to put up two or three images on Facebook/Instagram quickly on the day, can you provide this?

Yes, I'm very used to moving pictures quickly, I can airdrop these straight to your phone.

How will I receive my pictures?

I send them to you via WeTransfer so you can just download them. Or I can put them on a USB stick, if you prefer.

Do you do albums/prints/books?

No, this isn’t something I do. I recommend PhotoBox for this at www.photobox.co.uk.

How well do you work with children?

Very well! I have a son who is 12 years old, and I have always taken his and his friends' pictures, from birthdays to school sports days.

How well do you work with animals

Very well! I have two dogs myself - Chewy and Coco - and I grew up with ten Afghans!

Who owns the copyright of the pictures?

You do, as you have paid for them.

Do you do a site visit of a venue if you’ve not been before?

Happy to do this, as required. It is also an opportunity to meet with you and talk about your requirements and ideas.
